The Kettle Valley Railway Society – Preserving BC’s Rail Heritage

The Kettle Valley Railway Society (KVRS) is dedicated to preserving and restoring one of BC’s most iconic railway lines. Thanks to their efforts, visitors can ride an authentic steam train in Summerland and experience a piece of history.

Who Are the Kettle Valley Railway Society?

The KVRS was formed to restore and maintain sections of the historic Kettle Valley Railway, specifically the 10-km stretch in Summerland. Their main project is the Kettle Valley Steam Railway, a heritage railway that offers authentic steam locomotive experiences.

🔹 Educates the Public – Sharing stories about the railway’s history and importance.

The Kettle Valley Steam Railway Experience

Visitors can ride aboard Locomotive 3716, a 100-year-old steam engine that once hauled freight across BC. This 90-minute journey takes passengers through vineyards, canyons, and over trestle bridges, just as trains did a century ago.
