A trip on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway is like participating in a “living history lesson”. Many children have never experienced a ride on a train. There are not very many railways left – let alone that offer a genuine steam locomotive experience.
We love to host youth educational programs and to help bring history alive for our younger generation. We host a variety of age groups – from preschool to senior secondary. Our onboard commentary takes students through the rise and fall of the Kettle Valley Railway and describes the great impact the railroad had on the economy and development of the southern interior of BC. A ride on the Kettle Valley Steam Railway is a wonderful addition to learning about Canadian history.
