How long is the ride?

The ride is approximately 90 minutes long.

Where do you go?

You travel from the Prairie Valley Station to the Trout Creek Trestle Bridge and back to the Station. The Trout Creek Trestle Bridge was the largest on the KVR and third largest
of its kind in North America at the time it was built in 1913.

Is it a round trip?

YES – It is approximately 90 minutes and goes to the Trout Creek Trestle Bridge and then returns to the Prairie Valley Station.

Do you go over the Trestles in Myra Canyon?

No – The Myra Canyon Trestles are on the East side of Okanagan Lake. You will; however, get to go over the Trout Creek Trestle Bridge.

Do robberies happen on all trains?

No – The Great Train Robbery & BBQ is a special event.

Is there a concession at the Station?

We no longer provide a full concession facility but we do offer beverages and packaged snacks at the station and on board the train. You are invited to bring your own lunch and use our picnic shelter either before or after your train ride.

Do I need to make a reservation?

Yes, we do recommend reservations for all trains. Reservations are required for Special Event Trains. You can book with a VISA or MasterCard on our toll free line 1-877-494-8424. If we are unavailable to take your call please leave a message and we will call you back as soon as we can. Thanks!

Is this organization run with all volunteers?

Volunteers are a very important part of our operation but we do have to hire seasonal staff for our summer season and maintain a small core staff that works year round. During operating season all the coach hosts on the train are volunteers and when we are not running trains, many of those hosts change hats and take up hammers and paint brushes to help us with projects around Prairie Valley Station, the Engine Shed and site.
